Burma Railway

Built to connect Burma and Thailand, this route was constructed by Japanese forces during World War Two, using Allied PoWs and Asian labourers. An infamous stretch of railway, it passes through harsh terrain such as the Hellfire Pass as well as beautiful scenery along the banks of the River Kwai. A short section is still used by a tourist train which cross over the renowned Bridge on the River Kwai into Kanchanaburi.
